Basic Social and Health Education Programmes.
We are one of the largest Basic Health Care Colleges in Denmark representing three educations and a lot of other educational activities.
The college is situated in three different places, and represents a total of 1700 students.
The different educations are:
Social – and Health Service Helper
Duration 1 year and 2 months.
Their work is helping, mostly elderly people with practical and personal assistance, activation and elementary nursing tasks.
Subjects during the education are practical - cultural-activity related subject, pedagogical-psychological subject, sociological – social subject and nursing subject + basic subjects Danish, English and natural science.
Training takes place in the homes of the clients and in nursing homes.
The theoretical part of the education is 24 weeks, and the vocational part 28 – 32 weeks.
Social – and Health Service Assistents
Duration 1 year 8 months
They work with care, activation, basic hygiene and basic nursing.
Subjects are work-organizational, sociological-social subject, cultural-activity related subject, pedagogical-psychological subject, medical subject and nursing subject. Add here the basic subjects as Danish, English and basic science.
Training takes place in somatic and psychiatric hospitals and in community care and nursing homes.
The theoretical part of the education is 32 weeks and the vocational part app. 48 weeks.
Educator Assistant
Duration 2 years 3,5 months
They work with childcare, care for special needs (children and adults), leisure activities in recreations centres.
Subjects are needs, development and living conditions of children and youth.
Day - and 24 hours institutions for children and young persons and children with special needs.
Pedagogical-psychological subject, cultural-activity related subject, health subject, IT - and communication subject and basic subjects in Danish, English, sociological-social subject.
Training takes place in kindergartens, crèches, after school recreation.
The theoretical part of the education is 48 weeks and the vocational part 24 weeks.
All educations are taught through problem-based learning and the students use most of their time working in groups with different projects.
All the students have a personal education plan.
Other educational activities:
The College has a lot of other non - qualifying educational activities. To mention some we have pre courses for bilingual persons (immigrants and refugees), pre courses for adults as well as youngsters. The pre courses have a duration of > 20 weeks.
The college also offers different qualifying job retraining programmes for people in the labour market.
We offer special support for students with needs for that, i.e. dyslexia, homework coaching etc.
Employees:
The staff is, apart from the managers, office - and practical workers, teachers who come from vary educations themselves.
The teachers and employees work in smaller teams, and are organized according to the principles of the Learning Organization.
